Top 10 Classic Atari Games

Do you remember the Atari? The Atari is where it all began. Looking back the graphics are so cheesy compared to the fabulous graphics that are available on game systems today. As a child of the 80’s I can say that the graphics didn’t matter. My friends and I spent hours playing Space Invaders and Pac Man. If you are feeling nostalgic after reading the list below you can find the old games online.

Space Invaders A classic shooter where rows of aliens marched across the screen getting ever closer to taking over your base unless you shot them out of the sky.
Asteroids A triangle meant to represent a fighter ship rotated or moved across the screen shooting asteroid outlines. The larger the asteroid started out the more times you had to shoot it. If you were lucky you could hyperspace out and reappear before being smashed by an oncoming asteroid.
Kaboom The mad bomber dropped bombs and the player had to catch them with various sizes of buckets.
Pittfall Pitfall Henry goes on a trip through the jungle mazes to find 32 treasures.
Pacman Pacman is directed through a maze trying to eat all of the dots and avoiding being killed by any of the four ghosts. Once all of the dots are consumed on the level the player advances to the next level.
Donkey Kong The object of the game is to climb ladders and jump barrels to get to the top platform and rescue the damsel in distress.
Adventure This game marked a new type of game where the player explored multiple screen backdrops to find items and collect them to make your way through the game to find the chalice and take it back to the castle.
Missile Command The player is a regional commander defending six cities against enemy missiles.
Megamania, this game was another shooting game, but this time you are shooting weird things like hamburgers and other peculiar items.
Berzerk, Don’t touch the electrified walls in this fast paced game or you will blow up. Shoot the armed robots and get away from your enemy, Evil Otto.
